This Exercise to Music (ETM) qualification gives candidates a fantastic foundation for teaching a range of group fitness classes. Exercise to Music classes can take place in gyms and health clubs, as well as in schools, local community centers and many more spaces. Becoming an ETM instructor is a great career option and can lead to freelance and full-time work.
We can help you to explore all the options available and many people enjoy the flexibility to work around their existing lifestyles. However you choose to use this beneficial qualification, one thing is for sure – you will learn to inspire groups of people of all different ages, abilities and backgrounds!
This course is nationally and internationally recognised by employers in the fitness industry and it allows access onto REP’s at Level 2. The Exercise to Music course will enable you to teach Exercise to Music group fitness classes in any professional studio or gym. It is also a great platform for instructors wanting to further their prospects by booking onto more specialised courses such as the Pole Dance Fitness Instructor courses.
This course provides true blended learning with support and guidance throughout. Candidates will receive expert tuition from our professional and highly skilled tutors. Further to this, candidates who complete this course are accredited with 20 REP’S (Register of Exercise Professionals) CPD points.

REP’s Points
Candidates who complete this course are accredited with 20 REP’s (Register of Exercise Professionals) CPD points.
Assessment
All candidates are required to complete a theory test and a practical assessment. Relevant components of assessment will be covered during the course. The theory test will consist of a multiple choice theory paper.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for enrolment onto this course although we do advise candidates to have regularly participated in Exercise to Music classes and have a reasonable quality of movement.

Course Content
Theory Comonent of Anatomy & Physiology (Home study) Including:
- How to identify major bones, muscles and muscle action of the body
- The workings of the body’s cardiovascular and energy systems
Workshop Based Subjects:
- Practical teaching skills and instruction
- How to work to the beat, phrase and/or rhythm of a variety of music genres
- Warm up and how to apply the aerobic curve
- Muscular strength and endurance
- Flexibility and stretching techniques
- Choreography and how to design free-style choreography
- How to relate Health and Safety at Work Act to the studio environment
- Good customer care and strategies for the adaptation and maintenance of physical activity
